This island is aproject of chimpanzee sanctuary and wild life conservation trust established in 1997by the born free foundation[UK]
The island consists of approximately 100acres, 98 of these acres are forested.The island was official opened to visitors in October 1999 and currently home to over 40orphaned chimpanzes.
Have aclose up chimpanzee encounter and make adifferenceint the lives of chimpanzes.
There are two trips for this one day chimpanzee exprieence, the morning trip which leaves at 9am and comesback at 1pm then the afternoon trip which leaves at 1pm and comes back at 5pm.
Motorized modern engine empowered boats are used while visiting these memorable island both in the morning and afternoon trips and always life jackets are provided and these boats take between 10 to 20people.
On your way to the island you travel on lake victoria necessitating you to new nice sceneries, bird,monkeys plus other Islands.

This island is located on Lake Victoria, about 30kms from Entebbe. The island is well endowed or famous for hosting a lot of birds than any other places in Uganda, having more than 300 species of birds, with the famous being the shoebill, others include the white winged tern, gill-billed tern etc. Other activities while here include shoebill tracking, village walks, crafts hops, canoe trips, cultural tours, nature walks, bird watching etc.
